We are looking for a talented and experienced Node.js Developer to join our GPS Tracking Software development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance backend applications that support real-time vehicle tracking, fleet management, telematics, geofencing, route optimization, and IoT-based GPS devices. The candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js, API development, database management, and real-time data processing.
1. Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
2. Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for GPS tracking and fleet management applications.
3. Build systems to process and manage real-time GPS data received from tracking devices.
4. Integrate GPS tracking hardware, telematics devices, and third-party mapping services.
5. Develop features such as live vehicle tracking, geofencing, trip history, route playback, alerts, and driver behavior monitoring.
6. Optimize backend performance for handling large volumes of real-time location data.
7. Design and optimize database schemas for GPS and telematics data storage.
8. Ensure application security, authentication, authorization, and data privacy.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and system bugs.
10. Collaborate with frontend developers, mobile app developers, QA engineers, and product teams.
11. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards.
12. Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture discussions.
* Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+).
* Experience with Express.js or NestJS.
* Strong knowledge of RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
* Experience with WebSockets or Socket.IO for real-time communication.
* Good understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
* Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
* Knowledge of Redis or other caching technologies.
* Experience integrating third-party APIs such as Google Maps, Mapbox, or OpenStreetMap.
* Understanding of GPS protocols, telematics, or IoT device communication is an advantage.
* Familiarity with MQTT, TCP/IP socket programming, or message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka is preferred.
* Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
* Basic knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
* Experience in vehicle GPS tracking, fleet management, logistics, transportation, or IoT applications.
* Knowledge of geospatial databases and location-based services.
