We are looking for a proactive and safety-conscious Junior Safety Officer to support the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices across our manufacturing facility and project sites. The candidate will assist in ensuring compliance with safety regulations during the fabrication, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of material handling equipment, storage systems, and industrial automation projects.
1. Assist in implementing the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
2. Conduct daily safety inspections of manufacturing areas, warehouses, and project sites.
3. Monitor fabrication, installation, erection, and commissioning activities to ensure safe work practices.
4. Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
5. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees, contractors, and visitors.
6. Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.
7. Support incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and prepare detailed reports.
8. Assist in conducting risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification activities.
9. Monitor work permits for hot work, working at height, lifting operations, confined space entry, and electrical work.
10.Ensure fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and first-aid facilities are maintained and readily available.
11. Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, and statutory compliance documents.
12. Coordinate emergency response drills and participate in emergency preparedness activities.
13. Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, company policies, and client safety requirements.
14. Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and industrial safety practices.
* Understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident prevention techniques.
* Knowledge of PPE standards, fire safety, emergency response, and safe work procedures.
* Good observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prepare safety reports and maintain documentation.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
* Willingness to travel to customer and project sites when required.
* Knowledge of material handling systems, conveyors, warehouse storage systems, and industrial automation projects.
* Familiarity with lifting operations, crane safety, scaffolding, and work-at-height safety.
* Exposure to ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems is an added advantage.
