JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day fabrication activities related to structural steel & piping works. The role ensures that fabrication is carried out as per drawings, quality standards & project schedules while managing manpower, materials, & equipment efficiently.
Supervise fabrication of structural steel, piping, skids, tanks, and supports.
Ensure fabrication work is executed as per approved drawings, WPS, and specifications.
Plan daily work activities and allocate tasks to fitters, welders, and helpers.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, GA drawings, isometrics, and BOQs.
Coordinate with engineering/design team for drawing clarifications and revisions.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, welding procedures, and inspection plans (ITP).
Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections, weld visual checks, and NDT activities.
Supervise welders, fitters, helpers, and contract labor.
Monitor attendance, discipline, and skill utilization.
Ensure availability and proper use of tools, machines, and consumables.
Enforce safety rules and safe working practices on shop floor and site.
oordinate with planning, stores, QA/QC, and site teams.
Maintain daily production reports, material usage records, and manpower logs.
Report progress, delays, and issues to senior management.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
Strong knowledge of structural steel and piping fabrication processes.
Hands-on experience in welding, fit-up, cutting, and finishing operations.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication and piping drawings.
Leadership and manpower handling skills.
Knowledge of safety practices and quality standards.
