JOB DESCRIPTION
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing all mechanical activities related to fabrication, installation, and erection of structural components, piping systems, and mechanical equipment at project sites.
Study and interpret structural, fabrication, piping and erection drawings, technical specifications, and project scope.
Prepare detailed plans for fabrication, installation, and alignment of structural and mechanical components/equipment.
Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other departments for smooth project execution.
Plan manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for site work.
Supervise fabrication of structural components such as beams, columns, trusses, platforms, and supports.
Plan and oversee the erection of structural steel, mechanical equipment, and piping at site.
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, weld maps, and test certificates.
Maintain detailed project documentation, including material reports, progress updates, and daily site logs.
Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with site safety regulations.
Supervise and guide technicians, fitters, welders, and riggers on-site.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, and erection techniques.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and structural drawings.
Candidates with prior experience in the automobile manufacturing industry will be given preference.
Knowledge of lifting, rigging, and alignment methods.
Good leadership, planning, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
Sound understanding of safety standards and site procedures.
