1. Develop, optimize, and validate CNC programs for 5-Axis VMC machining of complex defence and aerospace components.
2. Generate CAM programs using software such as Mastercam, HyperMill, NX CAM, PowerMILL, or similar.
3. Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, GD&T, and technical specifications.
4. Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, machining strategies, and cutting parameters to achieve high precision and productivity.
5. Conduct first-off inspection and prove-out of new programs before production.
6. Optimize cycle times while maintaining dimensional accuracy and superior surface finish.
7. Work with materials such as Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, and other aerospace alloys.
8. Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve machining and process issues.
9. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce machining time and tooling costs.
10. Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, and defence/aerospace manufacturing requirements.
11. Maintain proper documentation of CNC programs, tooling, and machining processes.
12. Train and guide CNC operators and junior programmers.
*. Minimum 5 years of experience in 5-Axis VMC programming.
*. Strong knowledge of CNC machining, multi-axis toolpaths, and fixture design.
*. Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, HyperMill, NX CAM, PowerMILL, etc.).
*. Excellent understanding of GD&T, precision measurement, and engineering drawings.
*. Hands-on experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain CNC controllers.
*. Knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, and machining optimization.
*7. Experience in machining critical aerospace and defence components with tight tolerances.
