We are looking for a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to support quality assurance and manufacturing process activities for precision-engineered defence and aeronautical components. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining product quality, monitoring manufacturing processes, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
1. Perform in-process, incoming, and final inspections of machined and fabricated components.
2. Ensure products conform to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
3. Prepare and maintain quality inspection reports and documentation.
4. Identify quality defects and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
5. Monitor implementation of quality control procedures on the shop floor.
6. Support calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments.
7. Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
8. Assist in preparing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
9. Support process improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve productivity.
10. Coordinate with production teams to resolve process-related issues.
11. Participate in trial runs and validation of new manufacturing processes.
12. Maintain production and process records for traceability.
13. Maintain quality records as per ISO 9001, AS9100, and defence industry requirements.
14. Assist in internal audits and customer audits.
* Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, and fabrication.
* Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances.
* Knowledge of quality inspection tools such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, and Dial Indicator.
* Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100 is preferred.
* Basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, CAPA, and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
* Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
* CNC machining and precision component manufacturing.
* Defence and aerospace quality standards.
* Basic knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and MSA.
* Exposure to ERP systems is an advantage.
