We are looking for a Purchase Engineer to manage the procurement of raw materials, engineering components, tools, consumables, and subcontract services required for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in vendor development, cost negotiation, procurement planning, and supply chain coordination to ensure timely availability of materials while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
1. Procure raw materials, engineering components, tooling, consumables, and services as per production requirements.
2. Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
3. Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate commercial terms, and finalize purchase orders.
4. Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
5. Coordinate with production, planning, stores, and quality departments for material requirements.
6. Ensure purchased materials comply with technical specifications and quality standards.
7. Maintain vendor performance records and conduct periodic supplier evaluations.
8. Track inventory levels and optimize procurement to prevent shortages and excess stock.
9. Resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, and supplier performance.
10. Prepare and maintain purchase documentation, reports, and procurement records.
11. Support cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and value engineering.
12. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and applicable quality standards
* Knowledge of engineering materials, machined components, fasteners, tooling, bearings, and industrial consumables.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Strong negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
* Good analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles.
* Experience in CNC machining, precision engineering, automotive, or industrial component manufacturing.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 quality systems.
* Experience in vendor development, subcontract management, and cost optimization will be an added advantage.
